Vinnies CEO Sleepout

The Vinnies CEO Sleepout aims to raise awareness about homelessness and funds to support Tasmanians who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

Every dollar the Vinnies CEO Sleepout has raised helps provide crucial assistance to people experiencing homelessness,  with the aim of breaking the cycle of homelessness permanently for as many people as possible.

Vinnies operates a number of homeless services such as soup vans, men’s hostels, women’s refuges, meals services and facilities offering life skill courses, training and access to medical, legal and financial advice.

In 2016, the reality is that whilst we should celebrate all that we have achieved together, we must also remember that so much more still needs to be done

On any given night in Australia, 1 in 200 people are homeless.

Grant Hinchcliffe is the Chief Executive Officer of Tasmanian Independent Retailers (TIR), operating IGA Supermarkets in Tasmania.

Grant has participated in the CEO Sleepout over the last 6 years.  In that time he has managed to raise over $100,000 thanks to the support provided from within the IGA network and other generous donations.

"Vinnies provides such vital support and services to our local communities and at TIR we also strive to be an integral part of the Tasmanian community, giving back to our locals in any way we can,” Grant said.

“I would like to thank all our loyal supporters within the IGA community, who have been so generous with their donations.”
