Launceston Benevolent Society (LBS) is an independent, non-religious, not-for-profit organisation which has been part of driving positive social change in Tasmania for three centuries.
Their goal is to help people to overcome the barriers preventing them from participating fully in society. By helping to build healthy, inclusive communities, we can improve the quality of life of all Tasmanians.
UnitingCare Tasmania provides a range of quality services to children and families across Tasmania and work with the most vulnerable and marginalised Tasmanians in their own communities. They provide emergency relief, early childhood services, and child and family services around the state. In Hobart, UnitingCare Tasmania administers the Hobart Benevolent Society.
The Society provides emergency support and assistance for people in need in the form of food vouchers, food hampers, clothing, and budget and financial advice.
Since 2010 IGA Tasmania has donated more than $70k to the Launceston and Hobart Benevolent Societies in the form of IGA food cards via IGA’s Charity Relief Program and other donations.
