St Vincent de Paul Society

The St Vincent de Paul Society was founded over 170 years ago and commenced in Tasmania in 1899 when a Conference was established in Launceston.

The Society advocates on several pressing social justice issues such as homelessness, poverty and asylum seekers.

The St Vincent de Paul Society in Australia has more than 40,000 members and volunteers, who work hard to assist people in need and combat social injustice across Australia. Internationally, the Society operates in 150 countries and has over 800,000 members.

Since 2010 IGA Tasmania has donated more than $70k in IGA food cards via IGA’s Charity Relief Program for distribution in Tasmania.
