The Junior Sports Awards recognise the dedication of local young athletes that strive to excel and improve in their chosen sport.
The awards are open to all participants of junior sport aged under 18. Many of our local young people train for hours each week. They are committed, strong performers who play fairly in the spirit of the game and give back to their sport.
Nominated persons selected by an external judging panel will feature in Junior Sports photo feature in The Advocate and The Examiner on a Wednesday during the nomination process. All nominations go into the judging to award our junior sportspersons of the year.
The service to sport award is open to coaches, volunteers, officials, umpires and dedicated parents who give their time and knowledge to assist young sportspersons.
The 2016 Junior Sports winners were announced on the 23rd and 24th of November 2016. Below is a gallery of these presentations. Congratulations to all the winners, nominees and everyone involved.
Thank you to The Examiner and The Advocate for providing photos from the presentations.
