Supporting our local customers, our communities and our teams
Keeping Everyone Safe
Although many restrictions have been lifted the health and wellbeing of our local customers, communities and teams remains our highest priority. We’ve implemented a number of changes to help keep you and our teams safe including:
- Reinforcing continued 1.5 metre social distancing from each other in-store. Please follow all floor markings and signage in-store and use the length of a trolley as a good guide for the distance you should keep between yourself, store staff and other customers.
- As food stores, we already have very high standards of cleaning and hygiene in place, but are continuing to clean and sanitise the most common touch points in-store more frequently and ask that you wash or sanitise your hands before coming into store.
- You may be asked to pack your own bags to minimise handling and close contact and wherever possible please use card versus cash to keep everyone safe.
- Limiting the number of customers in-store at any time in line with government advice.
We are pleased to announce that our stock levels in-store have improved significantly. Demand continues to remain high and you may find that some products are unavailable due to product supply, but rest assured we’re working hard to meet demand on the products that you need and want.
Purchase Limits on Key Items
Now that we are seeing an increase in product availability we have lifted product limits in most categories. You may still find that some of your favourite brands are unavailable due to product supply and we thank you for your continued patience. As IGA stores are all independently operated, please ask your store about any limits they may still have in place as each varies based on the demand of their local community.
Change of mind “return policies” suspended
IGA stores have different return policies, however, given the magnitude of purchasing, we are temporarily suspending “change of mind” return policies.
Keeping you updated if there is a case in one of our stores
We continue to take advice from the Department of Health to make sure we’re taking all the necessary steps to ensure ongoing safety, including additional detailed cleaning in-store where necessary.
