TIR Mission Statement
Tasmanian Independent Retailers primary role is to assist its owner/members to compete effectively in the Tasmanian retail market and provide the necessary tools to enable them to meet all statutory regulations to ensure that the IGA Brand is respected in the Tasmanian market as providing quality, value and long term investment and job opportunities for Tasmanians. To be an integral part of the Tasmanian Community.

Tasmanian Independent Retailers (TIR) is a retailer owned Co-operative.

The Co-operative trades under the following banners:

  • Supa IGA
  • Festival IGA
  • Value Plus IGA
  • Friendly Grocer IGA

The Co-operative is managed by a board of six directors elected from within the membership on four yearly terms.

TIRs role is to provide centralised support for all retail banner members in the areas of:

  • Supplier negotiations and trading terms.
  • Banner advertising support.
  • Plant and equipment purchases.
  • Instore ranging and layout support.
  • Centralised retail pricing and promotional pricing support via host support systems.
  • Stay in business and instore expansion advice.
  • Provision of volume related rebates to members based upon member purchases from the group controlled entities.
